Most of you know him already, but Ken(slider2828) has been kind enough to do a guest post for me on his recent trip to Japan!^_^ Enjoy!

Haven’t been back to Japan for 2 years, but this time its a big trip. Well I recently got engaged to my long time girlfriend and it was time to ask her parents for her hand in marriage, so I find myself in Japan again. So big trip filled with fun…..

Her mom made this, which is a croquette sandwich…. It was so good I had to have two of them!

Later that day we went to a friends house and had some really good desert. Basically its like a cream puff but deep fried with powdered sugar and custard…. Soooo good… Geez

Later that day I found out that as a Christmas parents from my fiancee’s parents, they got me a ride around Fuji Speedway with the Circuit Taxi. Luckily there was a track day happening so I got to see some JDM cars. You can see Mount Fuji in the background and maybe Yuki’s Twin Sister? Hahaha….

These were apparently pretty popular because I saw about 3 of these on the track. Prices for the track weren’t bad at all. You needed to get a license, like a NASA license here in the US, so you have to get training and then pass some tests. Then after its about $400 annual license fee and about $175 per track day. You can even go for just morning or afternoon.

So back to the Hotel Room. I lived a Ebisu Garden place which is in Minato-ku which is about 2 stations from Shibuya. It’s a dating place actually and lots of people go there to hang out. Look up the Tokyo Westin. Nice place. That is the view from my hotel room on early morning.

Just to give you guys some more interesting cultural foods which you can’t buy. It’s New Years for Tokyo so this is very important for Japanese people so the mother in the family usually cooks some very special foods. Choo Umai Na!!! (In my Osaka’n accent) hahaha…
